Getting involved is KEY to making friends. I was too shy/stubborn to get involved in clubs my Freshman year, and as a result, I did not make that many friends. As soon as I started joining organizations and leaving my dorm room more often, I started meeting more people with common interests.
Favorite club: Devils' Advocates... Obviously this is a little bit biased, but joining this organization led me to discover a passion I did not even know I had (giving tours to prospective students) and also introduced me to so many amazing people that I classify as best friends and even family.
I came to ASU for a number of reasons. No schools in my home state of Tennessee stood out to me, so I toured ASU purely because my stepdad wanted me to (he was born and raised in Tempe). I had to tour the school twice before I was sold. Not only was becoming a Barrett honors student part of why I chose ASU but also because W.P Carey School of Business is highly acclaimed on a global level. Scholarships were readily available, which was also a bonus.
