My favorite spots in Tampa are Hyde Park and The Riverwalk. The Riverwalk has been my favorite place to sit and do homework while I have been at the University. When my family is in town I love taking them to Hyde Park so they can see the city!
Tampa encompasses a small community feel while still having the educational and career opportunities of a much larger university. Tampa became my #1 school after my first visit, the tour was so informative and made me excited to be a part of this fantastic group of people!
All of my classes at UT have allowed me to foster great relationships with my professors and fellow students, however, my favorite class in Public Health has been Health Policy & Social Change with Dr. Rebecca Olsen. My favorite sociology classes have been Medical Sociology with Dr. Brittany Harder and Sociological Theory with Dr. J. Sumerau. These professors have given me constant support and have helped me better understand my career goals.
My main goal after graduating from The University of Tampa is to work in the field of public health. I would love to work in cultural competency within health care to help physicians best assist minority groups. In the future I would like to obtain a higher degree and become a professor in public health or sociology.
