My favourite professor at UT is Dr. Dobrinski, in the Biology department. I began working with her on a research project the beginning of my sophomore year and not only has she taught me so much but she has also helped me to expand my interest. It is because of her that I now know that you can use a degree in biology/biochemistry in so many different ways and not just become a doctor like I had originally thought.
A few of my life goals are to travel to every possible continent and become fluent in Spanish and Dutch. I would also like to become a genetic counsellor and medical scientist. My ultimate life goal is to leave a positive impact on the world, whether it be remembered by many or just one person.
My favourite spots in Tampa are Riverwalk and the Downtown area. I love the fact that there are so many different things to do, from taking an evening run along Riverwalk to going to watch a Lightning game at Amalie. There are also so many cool shops and amazing restaurants so there is always something new to do or discover.
I chose Tampa because it is close to my home, The Bahamas. I also love the diversity that is present on the UT campus and the size of the school. With such a small student population, I've been able to build strong connections with not just my peers but with my professors as well and I believe that this has helped me to excel at UT.
