I chose Earlham because...

The community here. As a prospective student, I could feel and see the connectedness of campus in a way I didn't experience while visiting any other schools. As a student here, this closeness has proven to be quite true -- you can't walk to class, go into the dining hall, or walk across the heart without seeing someone you know.

My favorite class/professor is...

Global Dynamics and World Peace, with Jo Swang (Joanna Swanger). If you want a class that critically engages power, global political systems, capitalism, modernity, and the movements around the world resisting the violence of the status quo, this is the class for you. Also definitely take a class with Jo, she is great.

My EPIC Journey...

I used my EPIC Advantage to do an internship in the Bay Area, CA, with an organization that engaged white people and organizations in anti-racism work. I also did the Border Studies Program based in Tucson, AZ as my off-campus study experience. Both of these opportunities were incredibly powerful and growthful, and I would be happy to talk more about either if you're interested!
