Tour Guide at University of Florida
Class of 2027
Hometown: Miami, FL
Major: Media Production, Management, and Technology
I chose UF because I grew up visiting the campus while my cousin attended the school. I fell in love with UF's vibrant campus life and it's strong reputation. When I figured out that I wanted to pursue a career in journalism, I knew UF was the best place to be!
My favorite UF sport has to be football. I hadn't realized how big of a deal football season was at UF until I experienced it for myself. I love how football brings the community together and brings such a high energy to the swamp!
The coolest class I've ever taken is the Knight Talks Immersion Experience course. This class has given me hands-on experience in what it's like to produce a real talk show!
My favorite part of the College of Journalism and Communications is all the different experiences, opportunities, and helpful resources they offer. At the J School, I’ve been able to work on a talk show, be a news anchor, and experience being a PA for a short film! I’ve also gotten great advice and support from many academic advisors at Weimer. The College of Journalism and Communications truly has it all, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will graduate with great knowledge and experience within my field.
